'Charmed'

SPELLING TELEVISION'S "CHARMED" IS LONGEST RUNNING SERIES IN TELEVISION HISTORY FEATURING FEMALE LEADS

Supernatural Drama will reach the milestone on January 22.

(January 11, 2006 – Los Angeles , CA )  Spelling Television's hit series "Charmed" will become the longest running series in television history featuring female leads.

According to the Museum of Television & Radio, "Charmed" will surpass the long running comedy series "Laverne & Shirley," which ran for 7½ seasons, on January 22, 2006.

"It's a remarkable accomplishment, especially when you consider that when we premiered eight years ago, nobody thought we'd even make it to 22 episodes!  It's something we're all immensely proud of," said executive producer Brad Kern.

"Charmed," now in its eighth season, stars Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs as sisters who, after learning they are good witches with powers, are reluctantly thrown into a world of doing good as they discover supernatural evils.

The series is executive produced by Aaron Spelling, E. Duke Vincent and Brad Kern and airs Sundays (8:00-9:00 p.m./PT) on The WB.
