In the LA area? If you have time you can visit some of your favorite past film locations. Some of the places that the production of Charmed traveled to do location shoots are listed below. Some listed are open to the public, except the actual Charmed Manor House, which is privately owned, but you can view it from the sidewalk. We have listed three pages of Charmed location filming that you can view. If you have any other sites you wish us to list please send them to the website's email address. Also. if your interested in past filming locations for "Buffy" or "Angel" please visit BBOvenGuy's Guide to Buffy and Angel Shooting Locations. This is a great resource as well!
Also, on the same block and right next door to the "Halliwell Manor" is the house where Piper's past love interest, Dan, lived. This house is also privately owned and cannot enter. Please be respectful when visiting both these houses! Plus, I've added the house across the street that was seen in an older episode as well. All scenes inside the house are filmed in the studio, (old location- Canoga Park) now filmed at Paramount Studio outside of Los Angeles. All rooms that are seen in the show are not in the actual house, as many tend believe. All interior shots are done in the studio. All the San Francisco scenes, at the beginning or end of the episode, is actual film stock footage. No filming is done in San Francisco. The Charmed production is closed to the public.
Below are pictures from the old studio in Canoga Park, in a fenced off area, the cars that Piper (Jeep in foreground), Paige's green Volkswagen (under the white tarp) and Phoebe (little silver Mini-Cooper in front) use on the show, as well as some other bigger props.
The funeral scenes, below, (with the girls near Prue's casket) were shot inside a real mausoleum. In fact, it was the very same mausoleum where silent-screen legend Rudolph Valentino is buried, at the Hollywood Forever cemetery in Hollywood (which is next to Paramount Studios). Founded in 1899, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the resting place of hundreds of Hollywood’s greatest stars, but make sure to go to the CATHEDRAL MAUSOLEUM. The address is 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, in Los Angeles. It is free to enter but you can purchase a map at the gate's entrance. SEE MAP Also, this Cemetery was used in the episode "Power of Two" in which Prue and Phoebe call forth the Spirit of the ghost of Alcatraz, in front of his tomb. The church scene, where Paige
learns to levitate a candle (and where the girls are attacked by a demon)
was shot at St. Vincent de Paul church, north of the USC campus. It's the
same beautiful church used extensively in the filming of Arnold
Schwarzenegger's horror film, "End of Days." The address is
is 621 W. Adams Blvd, south of downtown L.A. |
