"Chris Crossed"
By Julie Burk

After watching this episode, all I can say is, “WOW!” I was excited about this episode all week, and it definitely didn’t disappoint me. Well, maybe just a little. Because although we now know for certain that Chris isn’t Wyatt, we still don’t know exactly who he is. I thought that this was the best episode since third season.

I think that the best part of the show was that it was original. I am getting a little tired of the Charmed writers ripping off fairy tales (i.e. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.). The writers managed to pull off a terrific, original story that didn’t make me feel like I had just watched a Disney movie.

Another great thing about the show? PIPER FROZE! Twice! I thought that she had forgotten that she even had this power, which disappointed me since this was my favorite power after orbing.

Although the episode focused on Chris, rather than the sisters, I didn’t feel like it left any one sister out. Also, the subplots, with Phoebe thinking of moving to Hong Kong and Paige moving in with Richard, didn’t seem forced. Instead, they fit in with the main plot, like they used to in the “old days” of Charmed. Their desires didn’t seem contrived, either, because any girl would miss their long distance boyfriend, and Paige has always been independent, and has considered moving out of the manor before.

However, she hasn’t been dating Richard for that long, and I think that this might be moving a little too fast. The Piper subplot left me wondering, “Who the hell is Greg?” Have we seen him before? I am going to have to re-watch the last couple of episodes to see if he was one of her previous dates. It was strange that they didn’t have her dating Derek, especially after that “look” they exchanged last episode. I was so glad that Piper didn’t actually sleep with the fireman, because that spared us from having to wonder if her new baby would be his.

Did anyone else wonder what Greg thought when he unfroze? One second Piper is there, the next he is naked and alone atop his fire truck. A good time-travel episode is always a winner in my book. The flashbacks-I mean flash-forwards - were fantastic. I loved seeing the manor “museum,” but would have liked to hear how the Charmed Ones were vanquished. And how exactly did the museum get the exact footage of the reconstitution, I wonder? Interesting that in the future, magick is known to everyone, and apparently, children study the Charmed Ones in school.

In the previews for this episode, when they showed Wyatt in the dark I thought he looked suspiciously like Tarzan. However, on closer view, the actor who played adult Wyatt was hot. Very, very hot. A lot of people are saying he needed a haircut, but I think a good washing would do the trick. I am curious to find out how Wyatt turned evil, and why he wouldn’t want his mother and aunts saved. When adult Wyatt said that all he was after was power, I wondered how much more he needed. As a baby he can already summon fictitious creatures from the television, vanquish enemies with the flick of a finger and is King of, well, they haven’t exactly explained what he is king of, yet.

Maybe it was the sword that corrupted him, though. I thought Bianca was great, and I hope that we see her again in future episodes. I know that she was killed at the end of the show, but there is still hope for her younger self. Its funny that whenever a woman is evil on this show, she starts wearing leather.

The worst part of the episode? The sisters are going to try living apart. Don’t they realize that they have tried this before and it never works? It may work with Paige because of her orbing powers, but she’ll have to orb halfway across the world to pick up Phoebe.

Points to ponder:
If Chris really is Piper’s second son, Bianca is really robbing the cradle because if she was six or seven, and Chris isn’t even born yet...well, you get the idea.

Why can Bianca survive being blasted to bits by Piper’s power, but a stick through her stomach kills her?

Why wasn’t Chris wearing the same outfit and the sunglasses as he was in Oh My Goddess? Unless we are supposed to assume that he went back in time to the manor, orbed out to change, then orbed back in at a convenient time.
