What a way to end the season.  I found a lot of closure in this episode.  What I did not like is the inconsistencies and the constant reminder that this was the last, and to me, it seemed like unless the cleaners can fix the exposure, we may not be seeing the original cast much more.  When the girls were getting back control of the book, Phoebe said to Piper, this may be the last time you have to do this.  Paige wanted to know how to get out of the situation, but I was thinking it was Kern’s way of ending the show, or getting them out of being the Charmed Ones.

The introduction was extremely long, like a last view of the city.  The two times we were taken through the manor, as if it was a way to view it for the last time, reminded me of when someone moves and they look at the house for the last time.  Piper signing over the mansion and P3 to her dad and saying goodbye to the boys, it seemed to me like a goodbye to Charmed as we know it.  Darryl promised his wife it was the last time he would help the girls. When the girls meet up with Leo again, Phoebe states that it is time for them to teach/focus on the next generation, to pass on the legacy.  Piper is looking forward to leading a normal life without demons.  Where does this leave Charmed?

I think it is setting us up for a season with the different faces of the Charmed Ones and the storyline will focus on the boys more.  Because there was so much closure and the girls went into hiding, I fear that finale has left no doors open (literally) to keep the focus on the sisters.  The door closing behind Darryl by itself led me to believe that we may not see the manor again.  It seemed very symbolic, since it closed with no one in the house, and all the other times we saw the door close, everyone was in it, that the manor is a closed part of the girls lives.

Some inconsistencies were within the clothing, storyline, and explanations of things.  First, in the scene where the girls are tricking Zankou to take in the Nexus, when Phoebe falls back, she has heels on and they fall off her feet.  In the next scene, when she stands up, she has on white sneakers.  This is a blatant mistake on wardrobe.  The other mistake they made was that Piper was wearing the same shirt in 'Death Becomes Them' as in the finale, but Paige and Rose were in different clothing.  Was it taking place in the same day or not? because if it was a different day, I cannot see Piper not changing.

Second, if the Nexus is the source of all power, whether it is good or evil, then how could there still be demons or the Charmed Ones with it destroyed, for that matter, how could there be a next generation.  If there is no electric, then you do not have lights, so if the Nexus was power source and it was shut off, where will the powers come from now.  Maybe next season can explain that better.

Third astral projecting, Prue learned it?  Last I remember, she was able to astral project because here powers were getting stronger.  Each of the girls got a second power at that time, Piper was able to blow things up, Phoebe was able to levitate, and Prue was able to astral project.  SO how was it that she taught Leo, who at the time could orb, to astral project.  That makes no sense to me.  Phoebe should then be able to teach the others how to levitate and that would have been helpful in many scenes throughout the years.  Why is it that Leo waited till now to teach them, and how could he do that being human.  I thought he lost all of his powers.  Astral projecting is not within a human’s reach.

Finally, they were able to morph into other beings without a spell.  They just snapped their fingers.  Never before did they act bewitched and snap for anything.  A spell or a potion I could have accepted better.  But the snapping of the fingers and the morphing into other beings, or personalities was never explained and I feel it was a reach.  Both times they did it, they should not have had any powers what so ever.  I think all of these inconsistencies made this episode lacking in the continuity that was starting to develop.  I wish when kern wrote this episode, he remembered the past, as he took us down memory lane.

Memory lane, yes!  We the fans were able to see all of the past magical creatures that they saved, their father, and many statements that referred to the past.  They brought up Prue, but never did the mention of Grams or Patty cross their lips.  I found that odd.  These were two very important people in Charmed through out the years. All the police that died were accounted for, and in Death Becomes Them, some past lost innocents were seen, but it made no sense to me why dig up the past until I realized what Kern was doing.  All this season, they have been bringing up this “big bad” was coming.  Do you really think it was Zankou?  I do not, he was a demon and they always defeated the demons.  So what was the big bad then?  The one thing that the girls could not fix with their own powers, the one thing that killed Prue in another episode, not the one where she really died,  the ONLY thing that could destroy the Charmed Ones……exposure.  Sheridan was the “big bad”.  She would have stopped at nothing to expose them.  The way the swat team and all the police swarmed the house, it reminded me of the scene where Prue dies in the alter world after they are exposed.  And since when do fireballs leave the manor?  That was pure exposure and conviction that something supernatural was going on in the manor.  We all know what happened when they were exposed, so I understand the different identities.  So once again, the Charmed Ones defeat the big bad, but at what cost?  Will they ever be able to be themselves or will we see a new cast?  Will the Elders help them clean up the mess now or are the girls still on their own?  Will the boys be able to be reunited with their parents, or will they grow up with their grandfather, just like the Charmed Ones grew up with Grams?  All these questions will hopefully be answered next season.

As far as the acting in this episode, I know I cried when Piper said goodbye, did you?  Holly was great, and she said it herself, when Phoebe said we lost our confidence except you and Piper replies with, "I'm a great actor".  Boy was she right!  I think Alyssa was not totally on in this episode, but the one who shined to me was Rose.  Through it all, she had me laughing, crying and just as frustrated as Paige was.  I think this episode finally challenged Rose and she stood above all!
