of Gossip Girl.
Rose McGowan may be
producing a Preacher HBO mini-series with
her Charmed co-star Holly Marie Combs.
Combs may star in the mini as well, along with
Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame.
The story chronicles the arrival of a creature
half-angel and half-demon called Genesis, which

all the people. He then goes on to a journey through
the country in search of God who left heaven when
Genesis was born. The miniseries is based on the
Vertigo comic and still has no release date. The
project is in the hands of HBO since 2006.
Could the miniseries be moving closer with Rose just
finishing her Indie drama Dylan's Wake and
exploitation film Machete? Holly is also
free, with no other projects and Leighton has a few
movies in pre-production along with Gossip Girl.
The gossip was reported by Revista Tv series while
talking about Rose's upcoming guest stint on
Nip/Tuck replacing Katee Sackhoff as Dr.
Theodora Rowe. The show will return Octobor 14th.

Charmed Book Review: Forever
Charmed: The Complete Episode Guide
By Tim McCree
BOOK: Forever Charmed: The
Complete Episode Guide
AUTHOR: Gregory Branson-Trent
If you’re inclined to go out and buy this book, take my advice and
save your money. Instead, go to Wikipedia (the online
encyclopedia) and look up Charmed there. You can read
the same information for free. That's right, EVERYTHING
in this book comes from Wikipedia, virtually word for
word! I don't know what the author was thinking, but it
seemed he got paid for a book he didn't write, rather he
just went to Wikipedia and used Copy And Paste. He then
supposedly took this book to the publisher and presented
it as his own work.
At first I didn't realize this, but as I was reading the
book, I began to notice that the passages seemed
familiar, that I had read them before. I soon realized
that I had read them, at Wikipedia! For example, in a
part of the Cole section of this book, it is written:
"Instead of going back to the Wasteland, this time
Cole ends up in the "void between life and death". It is
here Piper bumps into him years later, after being
attack by a Thorn Demon and is hovering on the brink of
death."
I know that bit, because I wrote it myself at Wikipedia,
shortly after Seven Year Witch aired in 2005. Let's just
say, that I am royally pissed that someone else got paid
for using my words and claiming them as his own. No
doubt all the others who wrote in the Charmed entry at
Wiki feel the same way (those that know about this, that
is).
The author makes NO mention of Wikipedia in this book,
not one (believe me, I checked). Instead he seems to
want everyone who reads it to believe the work is all
his. Sorry, pal, I'm on to you!
So, in closing I must give this book a zero
rating.
After paying nearly $40 to buy this book, I was
expecting something good, instead of a rehash of
information I can read for free anytime I want.
Shannen
Doherty Takes A Second Job As Magazine Art Director
Feb. 26, 2009
Shannen Doherty is back out of work after
finishing up a quick stint on
90210, so she's found work in a different
industry altogether.
Shannen's been named the art
director of the
California-based magazine called Pasadena.
She's been put in charge of choosing cover designs and photospreads for the publication, which is issued out
monthly. Kind of random, right? But Shannen's spokesperson
makes it sound like she's been doing this type of thing
forever. She says, "Shannen's always been interested in
magazines. She's learning how tough it can be, but it's just
a great creative outlet. She's already booking covers and
working on photoshoots."
Robert Rodriguez reteams
with Rose McGowan in 'Red Sonja'
By Susan Wloszczyna, USA TODAY
Red Sonja is back.
And Robert Rodriguez has her.
The Grindhouse co-director will produce a new big-screen
adventure featuring the flame-haired comic-book vixen. While
Brigitte Nielsen wielded Sonja's sword in the poorly
received 1985 version, Rodriguez's Planet Terror zombie
slayer and real-life leading lady, Rose McGowan, will wiggle
into the metal mesh bikini in the 2010 release.
"I was surprised when Rose brought me a script of Red Sonja
that she liked," Rodriguez says from his home base of
Austin, where he is shooting Shorts, a family film with
James Spader and Jon Cryer. "I found it very entertaining.
Sonja was strong, smart, cunning - just about everything
she'd have to be to survive."
McGowan's initial impulse when offered the part? To laugh.
"When they first came to me with it, I thought it was
funny," says the actress, 34. "I do have a body made for
sitting on a veranda with mint juleps and a parasol. I don't
know why I always have to save the planet."
Rodriguez considers her a perfect fit as the mighty, and
mighty voluptuous, avenger. "Rose is a pistol. She's
whip-smart, has attitude to burn, is sexy, extremely strong,
yet has a vulnerable side that would surprise her closest
friends. That description also fits Red Sonja."
Not that his star isn't committed to the whole barbarian
babe concept, including the crimson locks.
"I do have a very scrappy-do personality," says McGowan, who
will undergo intense training before filming starts in
October. "I lean toward physicality. The story has
characters trashed by life who fight their way back. That is
my theme."
Unlike her one-legged Planet Terror heroine, she assures, "I
need all my limbs for this."
McGowan and Rodriguez have not seen Nielsen in the original,
and they have no plans to catch up. As the actress explains,
"Why put that in my head?"
Instead, the origin story, to be directed by longtime
Rodriguez associate Douglas Aarniokoski, will take its cues
from the comic books as well as works by pulp novelist
Robert E. Howard, father of the original Sonja (then spelled
Sonya) and Conan the Barbarian (also undergoing a movie
revival).
"Howard's goal was always, first and foremost, to spin a
good yarn and to entertain," says Rodriguez, who is hoping
his Red Sonja turns into a franchise. "That's our goal."
MORE:
-
--Also on tone and scope, McGowan (who's quite lively and
quick-witted in person) said it's "hard, cold, dirty and
bloody." And that she's looking forward to "taking a big
giant sword and killing a lot of people."
-- Training is already underway, and McGowan is working with
the same swords experts who helped out on Matrix
and Ninja Assassin.
Charmed
Hits a (Final) Milestone
by Matt Webb
Mitovich - TVGuide.com
- Jan. 20,2006
With its Jan.
22 broadcast, WB's Charmed (Sundays at 8 pm/ET) - which
premiered Oct. 7, 1998 - becomes the longest-running
television series boasting all female leads, having bewitched
viewers for more years than such estrogen-heavy fare as Laverne
& Shirley, Designing Women and Sex and the City. To mark the
milestone, TVGuide.com sat down with executive producer Brad
Kern to assess the show's assets, assay the avidness of its fans
and conjure up a peek at its future - no matter how (gulp!)
finite it may be. TO
